Hi there and welcome to Seasons in Parenting! (That’s SIP for short, so go ahead and reheat your coffee, I’ll wait.)
I’m Samantha, the Mom behind Seasons in Parenting. I started this blog after becoming a stay-at-home mom; something I was not expecting, but having a baby in the middle of a pandemic really changed my outlook on things.
So what is Seasons in Parenting all about?
For one, it’s all about the parenting journey. Pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, newborns, toddlers and beyond. (I’m not there yet, so I don’t know just what is hiding in the beyond.)
Seasons in Parenting is also about just that: the actual seasons. I’ve lived in Southwestern Pennsylvania all my life, and the one thing I could never give up is the seasons (even as much as I complain about having to drive in the snow). So, if you’re located in the PA, WV, MD, or OH areas, check out the travel section. There are ideas for traveling with kids or just you and your spouse (you remember those regular date nights we’re supposed to be having.) Or maybe you’re looking to visit the area for the first time, there are tips for you too.
I’m excited to share this journey with you. I hope I can give you some help with time management, building your home budget, or organization skills. Maybe you need some ideas to keep your little ones busy throughout the day or help on how to throw the perfect birthday party. I’m here for all that.
As my best friend says, I am the planner of our group. So let me help you through your parenting journey, so you can be the best mother to your little ones.
Here’s a few things you should know about me.
- I’m a huge Disney fan
- I was an accountant for 15 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom
- I’m a nerd (see above), but I hit a new level when my husband introduced me to the worlds of Harry Potter, Marvel, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings
- I’ve been ziplining
- I love taking Segway tours
- I am a checklist guru (my checklists have checklists)
- I’m a fan of Friends (Phoebe is my favorite, but I’m definitely a Monica – remember the checklists)
- I’m not a big fan of chocolate, but I can’t resist M&Ms, especially the Easter ones
- I am a mom of advanced maternal age
- I was an assistant Girl Scout leader for 9 years and didn’t have a kid in the troop
- I enjoy taking naps (even before having a baby)
- My favorite season is fall because of the colors, it’s perfect hoodie weather, and Thanksgiving; second is spring because everything is new again
- I’m an introvert, and writing is the best way for me to communicate
- I believe we get a fresh start everyday
Check things out and if you think we might have some mom things in common, sign up for my newsletter so we can stay connected. You can do it in the time it takes you to finish that coffee.
