What can I gift my kids on Halloween?
It’s that time of year. There’s a crispness in the air, kids are back in school, and the holidays are right around the corner!
I know everyone is always thinking about what to get their kiddos for Christmas, but first comes Halloween.
And maybe you’re thinking: don’t kids just get a bunch of candy and we call it a day?
Yes, that’s mostly true, unless you’re a mom of a toddler and don’t want your little ones riding that sugar high right into Thanksgiving.
I started this tradition of giving Halloween gifts for toddlers for my baby’s first Halloween, when he had no use for candy. And I am excited to continue it again this year!
So, if you’re looking for some inspiration for a Halloween gift for your toddler, look no further. I’ve rounded up some of the best Halloween gifts for toddlers. I’m sure you’ll find something your little pumpkin will love.
Some people enjoy giving Halloween gifts for toddlers at the beginning of the month, so the kiddos get to spend the whole month gearing up for Halloween.
And others like to give them on Halloween night. Either is fine! (You could even spread gifts throughout the month.)
It’s your tradition. Do what makes your family happy!

Themed Halloween Gifts for Toddlers
Personalized Halloween Basket
If you’ve been with me for a while, you’ve already read about the perfect Halloween gifts for babies, so you may already have a personalized Halloween basket. But if you haven’t got one yet, it’s not too late!
They’re perfect as part of the gift and can be used year after year (just like an Easter basket) as your kids get older.
To recap the reasons I love using a personalized Halloween basket:
- You don’t have to wrap anything.
- The basket is already themed.
- It’s reusable (as a gift basket or for trick-or-treating).
- It’s small, so you won’t over-buy.
- There’s no fighting over gifts (great for sibling squabbles).
Halloween Costume
If you plan on gifting your Halloween gifts for toddlers at the beginning of October, make sure to include a Halloween costume. If you’re still in the early toddler stages, you’re still the one picking out the perfect costume.
But if you’ve got an older toddler, I’m sure he has his own ideas about his costume. And I feel your pain. One day it’s Spider Man, the next it’s Paw Patrol. Or it’s something he’s completely made up in his head.
My only piece of advice is to purchase the costume early enough that it’s still in stock, but late enough that you’re certain that is what your toddler really wants to be. (My thoughts are with you.)
Halloween Pajamas
These are the years you can still get away with dressing your kiddo in those cutesy costumes and even cuter pajamas.
So, live it up and make sure to include a set or two of Halloween pajamas in your Halloween gifts for toddlers.
Halloween Finger Puppets
If you’re looking for a perfect Halloween toy, these finger puppets make a cute addition to that Halloween gift basket.
Halloween Bath Toys
Don’t forget bath time! These rubber ducky bath toys come in sets of 18.
You can easily split them up between your kiddos, or even pass some out to trick-or-treaters.
Halloween Coloring Book
Get your little one excited for Halloween with this coloring book. And don’t forget the washable crayons!
Halloween Plush Toy
My little guy has loved carrying around stuffed animals ever since he hit the one-year mark. Be sure to include a cute plush toy with your Halloween gifts for toddlers.

Fall Outfit
This is the perfect time of year to gift a new fall outfit. Your little one will be all set for when you to tackle your family’s fall bucket list.
Pair this adorable plaid shirt with some jeans and a knit scarf for a cute fall outfit during your family trip to the pumpkin patch.

Boots
Make sure to get a nice pair of boots to go with that new fall outfit, especially if it’s your little one’s first year up walking around.
He’ll need a good pair of boots to jump in those fall leaves, and he’ll be all set for winter.
Coat
Now is also the perfect time to get a new winter coat. Depending on when the snow comes to your area, you toddler might need a winter coat before Santa makes his rounds.
Underwear
If you have a new-to-potty toddler, underwear makes the perfect Halloween gifts for toddlers.
New underwear can be a great incentive to get your little one to try out the potty. Or if you’ve been potty-trained for a while, get a few pairs in the next size up.
Playful Halloween Gifts for Toddlers
Crayons
If you’re including a coloring book with your Halloween gifts for toddlers, make sure you get this set of washable crayons.
We’ve only used these crayons while in the highchair, but they easily wipe off the tray with water and wash right out of clothes.
Paints
Washable paints are a great addition to a toddler Halloween basket. Take them outside (to paint a pumpkin) or use them in the tub for easy clean up.
Or pour some paint in a Ziploc bag for a completely mess-free activity.
Books
One of my favorite gifts to give for holidays or birthdays is books. Not only are books educational, but they’re more likely to hold your toddler’s attention longer than traditional toys.
To keep your kiddo’s interest even longer, you can choose to read the story or describe the pictures in the scenes. One of our favorites is Zip! Zoom! On a Broom.

Snacks
When you don’t know what else to give a toddler, pack snacks! We still love puffs. yogurt melts and crunchies are also very popular in our home. Just make sure you’re giving age-appropriate snacks.
Snack Catcher
I just love this little snack catcher as part of Halloween gifts for toddlers. It’s something small but will really stand out in that Halloween basket. And it’s just so cute! Your kiddo will love getting those Puffs out of this guy.
Cups
If you’re just starting to move away from the bottle, Halloween is a great time to gift some sippy cups to your little one. I feel like things that come as presents are more appealing and more likely to be used.
My little guy likes to drink milk from this cup and water from this cup. I don’t know why there is a difference, but I’ll go with whatever works.
You could even try out some cups with straws, just to see which cup your toddler prefers.
And if you have an older toddler moving out of the sippy cup stage, you’ll want to try these heavyweight plastic cups. I love these cups because you don’t have to worry about them breaking.
Yes, kids might be ready for adult glasses, but accidents still happen. I’m fine cleaning up spilled drinks, but I don’t have to worry about broken glass with these cups.
Plates
Same thing with these plates. If your toddler is out of the dump-everything-on-the-floor stage, it may be time to get some deep walled plates.
These are great for when your little one is able to eat finger foods on his own or has started using his own utensils, and they come in so many colors.

Bowls
It might be time to get some larger bowls for your toddler, so he can start eating cereal and fruits out of his own bowl.
I love these bowls cause they are the same heavy plastic that the cups and plates are made of, so there is no worry about breaking anything.
Toddler Utensils
While we’re on the subject of tableware, pick up this set of toddler utensils. They’re small and chunky enough for little toddler hands and make mealtime much easier.
Large Bibs
By this time, the baby bibs you got at your baby shower are probably pretty messy and are definitely getting a little snug.
Get some large bibs to stuff in that Halloween basket. These food prints are so cute!
Practical Halloween Gifts for Toddlers
Flash Cards
It’s never too early to start teaching your little toddler colors, shapes, numbers, and letters.
Get them even more interested with these touch and feel flash cards. Each card asks additional questions about the object and offers pronunciation in four languages.
Hooded Bath Towels
Those infant towels you got at your baby shower are probably getting a little small these days. These bath towels are great to include with your Halloween gifts for toddlers and can be used for years.
Ok to Wake Alarm Clock
Are you having a hard time keeping your little one in bed in the mornings? Get an Ok to Wake Alarm Clock to let your toddler know when it’s ok to get out of bed. It’s great to start training your kiddo to wake on his own at an early age.
Diapers and Wipes
So, I’ve included diapers and wipes more as a suggestion for grandparents, aunts and uncles, or friends who might be looking for ideas to give your toddler a Halloween gift. There’s nothing a parent needs more for kiddos that aren’t potty-trained.
Conclusion
There you have it: the most amazing Halloween gifts for toddlers. If you get a bath towel, bibs or any clothes, you can easily roll them to fill in the Halloween basket, then stick the other items in around those bigger items. It fills up the basket, so you don’t go crazy buying Halloween gifts for toddlers, but it still looks nice.
